Ren by Tableau Vivant

You still have just over a week to get to the second anniversary spectacular of The Men's Dept, and you'll need to make sure you do because OMG these skins. This is Ren by Tableau Vivant.

I can't get over these lips.

It's currently only for sale in the three warmer tones for just 300l each but when you buy any of them, you get a gift of the ginger one on the left.

Seriously, what are you waiting for. GO.

Berry's Dance in Second Life Challenge

Strawberry Singh is so demanding with her memes and her nosiness and her challenging us to do things we've never done before. I mean REALLY. Inspiring me to find a screencap thingy and make my first ever machinima. Pushy, pushy, pushy.

Credits for the music - "Miley Cyrus Vs Redfoo Vs Journey - Don't Stop Wrecking Ridiculous Ball (Djs From Mars Bootleg)"

  1. Which dance are you sharing in the image/video and where is it from? These are both dances from the Ministry of Motion - "Want You Bad" then "Happy Happy!" I like the second one the best because it's the dance I do when I really want to embarrass my kids.
  2. Which is your favorite dance in Second Life? – There's 2 also from MiniMo. If you've known me for any length of time, then you'll know I'll bust out into either the Bootiepop or Baby Oh Yeah at any opportunity. Being in front of a live audience of hundreds never stops me either... hi, everyone still traumatised from Mr Virtual World 2011!
  3. What are your favorite dance animation stores in Second Life? – Apart from Ministry of Motion; there's Humanoid, Akeyo and A&M Mocap.
  4. Are you a frequent dancer in Second Life? – Unf. Yes. I used to spend an obscene amount of money on dances, and I kept an antisocial alt just for clubbing so I could bliss out on something really meaty with a ridiculous BPM and not be interrupted. I'm also happy to accompany the ladies in my life to a ballroom. I used to work for one of the top gown makers in SL, Miamai - so I could write it off on tax as market research.
  5. Are you a frequent dancer in the real world? – I am. But only when no one's watching.

From One A:S:S To Another

Photos Nikolaidis and Storm Torvalar of A:S:S - Another Stupid T-Shirt Shop, in case you were wondering - are having a moving sale; packing up errythin' and moving to a brand new sim after five years in the one spot. I was going to dress up in all A:S:S clothing for this post as I own pretty much all of it, but then I realised something.

Pho doesn't make pants. Like... I'm telling you, I scoured my inventory and it turned up nothing except some kilts. So you only get half an A:S:S. Plus an artfully placed graphic.

Here is where they are now.

Here is where they will be next week.

But go here now.

Berry's Black and White Meme

Because mine most beloved friend asked for it. And. I'm pretty much just black and white anyways.

Still working out my shape in this wonderful Sean skin by Tableau Vivant. Some days I think I have it right, then I step back and realise it's STILL not right. Hair is by Eater's Coma, eyes are Ikon, necklace is Earthstones. Fangs I grew m'self.

This entry is dedicated to the creator of the meme herself.  She'd know how heartfelt this is because I neverrrrrr do her damned memes!

February 9 2014 - OPTIONS

This post is about options.

Why?

Well you know how you have that nagging feeling that you've forgotten something? Maybe something to blog? And even having offline messages and notecards dropped on you since November that say "OMFG STOP BANGING SKITTLES FOR FIVE MINUTES AND BLOG MY SUITS, MR JEFFERSON!" don't bring to mind exactly what it is you forgot to do?

There was something about suits. Really well made suits by some indian chick, starts with a Z. Or a K. May have been a K. I know for sure that she gets Strawberry Singh to do her dirty work for her. I'm pretty sure that when they were dropped on me I just went into complete mental, emotional and physical shutdown, and collapsed on the spot - splayed across the floor gibbering about how finally, finally there was a really well tailored slimline suit that didn't make me look like a linebacker.

Not that I know what a linebacker is, really. The rear defense line of any real football code is called a Full Back. Silly Americans.

Today I decided it was about time I shared the frankly wonderful Classic Suit by Zaara with the world, because although every male blogger worth his salt did so when it first came out, not one of them is as deathly skinny or pale as I - or as untalented. So you may have seen the best it can look, but I can show you the worst it can look. Which is still bloody awesome. Hmmm... that sounded like a better compliment in my head.

Plus, you may have forgotten it existed. Like I did with this blog.

I'm also debuting the sensational new skin by Tableau Vivant; named Sean. I was so happy to see a new skin come out of TV as I always am, but I haven't been able to wear the last three releases with my face so  I was anxiously awaiting a new one. It was completely worth the wait because APPLIERS OMG YOU GUYS FINALLY! That was the good news we were all expecting as we'd had teasers on plurk, but I don't think any of the men were expecting the kinds of options we were presented with when the boxes were finally unwrapped. It was just like Christmas all over again. I know the ladies are used to this, but it's the first male skin EVER where there have been choices.

Look at that. JUST LOOK AT IT. Okay so maybe don't look at my hideously bloated inventory which has crested 90k for the third time this year already but check out what modifications are offered with Sean. It took me a good half a day to decide how I wanted my new face to look.

I've already stuffed this post full with way more pictures and words than I usually do; so rather than continue to wax lyrical about this epic new skin, I'll just show more of it off over the next few posts. If you've been reading this blog for more than five minutes then you'll know I usually have my shirt off ANYWAY so you'll get to check the out the chest. And as it's me we are talking about, we also know that my arse will make a guest appearance not long after that.

You can find the Sean skin by Tableau Vivant here, and the classic Suit by Zaara here.  My hair is Harley by Truth and my gloves are from Adam n Eve. Hands are SLink, nails are from A:S:S and I wear the Promise eyes by Ikon.

MIAMAI Black Label 2013 "The Golden Thread."

MIAMAI - Black Label 2013 "The Golden Thread."

MARK YOUR CALENDARS.

I'm sure if you have been on my flickr for a while, then you'll know that I have a long and glorious association with the design house MIAMAI. Every year, Monica Outlander and Pill Kanto create an amazing fashion event named Black Label, and this is the 4th year I'll be involved - sadly not on stage this time, due to a computer in it's death throes. Each year we need to find a way to top the year before, and it gets harder every time.

However. For 2013 something very special and very different will be happening. I'm not permitted to spill any of the details, but its well worth your time in turning up. If you are unable to be inworld during these times, we are also broadcasting a livestream which I will be hosting.

I can also promise you that this year the MIAMAI Black Label collection is far more beautiful than ever before. I'm currently writing the scripts for the show, and there isn't enough hyperbole in the dictionary for me to describe them accurately.

29.09.2013 Berry's Ween Meme

Did you go trick or treating as a child? Only twice that I can recall. Once as a wee one and once when I was way old enough to know better. (More on that later.) We just don't do Halloween in Australia, we'll be lucky to have maybe three door knocks on Ween night. I have dressed up for a few pub parties though.

What was the best Halloween costume you ever wore yourself? Oh god...  I can't remember the first one but knowing me I was probably Donatello. Oh yes. I wanted to be the least cool Ninja Turtle when I grew up.*

What is your most vivid memory about Halloween? The one time when I was about 17 and was staying over at a friend's house. I promised Mum no trick or treating but of course that's exactly what we did. We both went as corpses - well bedsheet ghost plus loads of black guyliner really, but we pretended to have made some effort - and walked around to all our enemies' houses, griefing them. We also walked around to all our friends houses and griefed them too but those ones we did with love

Don't worry, I got hit with karma pretty damn hard the next day. I got a second degree sunburn walking home at 8:30am. Yep... I truly am a vampire in real life.

What is the scariest movie you have ever seen? Ahhh I know its not cool to admit fear at a modern horror movie, but the 1999 remake of House on Haunted Hill came very close to breaking me. I used to relish nightmare movies and would gleefully hunt them out laughing at the wusses. I saw that at three am at the end of a four movie marathon with my now-wife and I have never come closer to walking out of a theatre. Last year it was on television and I decided to watch it, surely it couldn't have been that bad. Five minutes in I went NOPE and cut it out of my life.

Also, The Notebook. That shit was terrifying

Do you ever get nightmares after watching a scary movie? Oh hell no, I have enough things in my RL to give me nightmares. And my SL too, come to think of it. There's no wiggle room for movies to squeeze into my psyche.

What will you be doing for Halloween this year, if anything, in SL and RL? RL I promised my kids we would finally carve a pumpkin this year. We haven't ever done it before. Not because I couldn't be bothered, but because pumpkins here look like this.  I tried it once, broke two knives and a filesaw. However, our local grocer has specially grown some 'Murican types just for Ween, and I have been begged to give it a go.

In SL I have not yet made plans! One of the best things about our little world is that we all get to share in each other's holidays and celebrations, and I have been informed by loved ones that I have to attend parties or else. I'm dressing up as a Viking this year. So long hair, no shirt, bits of animal hanging off me. In other words, business as usual.

Just blonde.

An Open Letter To Miley Cyrus

Dear Miley,

Miley_008

Congratulations.

You are now a fully fledged Rock Star.

I have never seen this many pearls clutched before, and certainly not by musicians who got by on on shock value alone once people stopped listening to their actual music. You've got a truly bangin' bod and you are only going to be 22 once, so whack as much fun into your life with that sledgehammer as you can fit.

It's your party, you can do what you want.

Love, Winter

Thank you Squi...

Some may have noticed; I know my loving, understanding and encouraging partner Winter has; but I haven't been in Second Life very much at all for a few months. I come and go as my life allows and really relish my time in-world. Usually I'm with Winter but had a little time alone a few days ago and decided to take pictures of an outfit I love.

I was thinking about Squinternet Larnia, wondering how she was doing, and reveling in this gorgeous dress she had created for some Miss Virtual I can't recall. I was feeling, in my headspace, like a glorious princess. In that moment so grateful for this beautiful thing...all of the beautiful things I have in my virtual inventory created by this wonderful woman.

I had no idea what to write at the time. I had asked Winter if he had heard from our friend Monica about how Squint was doing. Monica had been working closely with Squinternet weeks earlier, helping with a new store

Not being in world I didn't know...was there something still going on? Have people already moved on to the next thing? And how that would be a shame because everything I heard about this woman pointed to her kindness and in my mind she was still relevant.

This morning I woke up, sat on my living room floor with some coffee and friends that had spent the night, checked my email and read plurk while one was doing the same on her phone and the other was working on a project on his laptop. They didn't hear the catch in my breath. Didn't see the tears streaming down my face as I covered my mouth and continued reading the news that Squinternet was gone. I didn't think something like this would affect me that much. It made me realize that though she and I never chatted or joked she shared something with me and even though it wasn't tangible or personal it really mattered. Her work is part of my Second Life.

A few months ago Winter was asked to blog on Love Donna Flora and he was kind enough to ask me to post with him. Shortly after we posted I was browsing Donna Flora in world and Squinternet was in her shop moving things around. She looked busy and I was too shy to say hello.

That is something I will always regret.
